Serious Studios Artist Online Portfolio Creation &
Submission Service provides continuous exposure of your art to galleries, agents, museums & other art associations worldwide
Serious Studios was created in 1998. I started online in 1999. I have collected over 1200 email addresses in my address book from artists, galleries and art collectors over the last 8 years from my galleries and websites including www.NYCStreetArtist.com and TonyWynn.com. I continue to receive requests to be added to my lists from my monthly virtual exhibition series.
The online artist portfolio concept grew from the Serious Studios Miami Emerging Artist Platform in 2003. I first represented artists through web pages with my NYCStreetArtist.com project in 2000 which was profiled in the NY Times.
I have used my online portfolio to present to galleries and received offers and shown in places I could not have presented in person including Northwood University Gallery and Studio Mezzo in Helsinki, Finland. I have entries in my online guestbook at TonyWynn.com from people over the world who have seen my work.
I have sold paintings from my web presence. Other artists on the site have used their webpages to solicit galleries, enter contests or for bidding (and winning) art in public spaces projects. Many galleries accept submissions by email. The online portfolio is the neat professional tool perfect for that purpose. And the most cost effective way to make art contacts. Before I started my art career I worked for Xerox. In marketing.
Now I'm an artist who helps other artists.
My website costs me about $19 monthly. I think that's fair.
I will be focusing primarily on the art markets in Berlin, Dusseldorf and Cologne. I will accept small portfolios of less than 9 original images including photography in a small binder by prior arrangement. I will present the portfolios for consideration to galleries on a weekly basis. The continuous web presence acts an online catalog of the artists involved with this project as well as a tool for processing transactions. Berlin is a well respected leader in the European art market, there are over 250 galleries in the Prenzlaurberg District alone this season.
