Art in the Workspace

Art in the Workplace project was developed by Serious Studios Art Gallery as a short or long term art education program to provide exposure to differing artistic styles and various mediums to working professionals in the workplace. Since there are very few opportunities to learn about modern art in most communities, this program is designed to develop an appreciation through contact and enlighten individuals to the value of arts to a community while providing businesses an opportunity to start or add to their corporate art collection investment affordably by first evaluating the art in their work environments.

Similar to say a cool plant service, the project allows the business to select from the work of various artist participants, pay from $60 - $90 monthly for an ongoing onsite exhibition changed quarterly, and apply the annual rental equity into the purchase of a piece of art. Simple. This win-win proposal allows the artists to exhibit their art and provides the business an affordable lease to buy opportunity while contributing to the growth of art awareness to employees, co-workers and customers.

- Select from the works of over 15 artists with different backgrounds, representing skills in pen drawings, photography, abstract, folk art, impasto oils, lithographs, serigraphs, primitives and original acrylics

- Onsite installation changed quarterly by arrangement with posted information on the current art/artist

- Initial installation billed at $100 plus first monthly payment to include set-up, take down and onsite insurance. Additional monthly payments billed to a credit card. Insurance includes damages to the art including fire, missing artwork will be billed according to full disclosed value at installation

- All monthly payments, excluding initial set-up charges, apply to purchase equity for any artwork in the huge Serious Studios Art Gallery inventory during program participation

- Although designed as an ongoing program, the agreement can be terminated at any time with a 30 day notice by either party with all accrued equity available for purchase up to 90 days after termination

Serious Studios Art Gallery was established on Postoffice Street in Galveston in 1997. Since then the owner, Galveston native Tony Wynn, has been searching for interesting art and works with professional artists from New York, Miami, Osaka, Helsinki and Frankfurt, as well as local artists.
